All Grown Up
During my adulthood, I had accomplished many things. My fiancé was James Criton and we were married on April 28, 1770. On March 16, 1771, I had my
first child, and his name was Caden. On the 18 of July, in the ear of 1773, I had my second child who was names Sophia. Later in October 25, 1775 I had my last
child names Ian. It was easy to take care of one baby but 3 are too much to handle. I was too tired to take care of my three kids and I needed a lot of
stamina. My oldest child was mercurial because he knew how to walk by the age of 7 months.
In 1775, The Revolutionary War had begun. It was the battle of the 13 colonies and Great Britain. It later grew into the World War, which had Great Britain on
one side and the United States along with France, Netherlands, and Spain on the other side. The results were that the Americans had won because Great Britain
had a shortage of people. After the war, it had been the result of the political American Revolution. The British Parliament had the power to tax the colonists so
that the money would go to the military that they had. It was not fair that I had to pay taxes for something benefiting the British.
When I was not home, I went to my parent’s house for the day; it was my husband, kids, and I. We were staying over for the night because our children
barely got to see their grandma and grandpa. They would be able to get closer and bond. I reached for the door and it was already open when we went inside, the
whole house was empty. “Bang! Bang!” James hit the door because it was locked. We had finally gotten inside, to discover the window wide open. “They
must have escaped through the window” I told James.
Before we had left we had closed all of the windows to make sure that no one would get in.” There was nothing in sight, go into the room and check our little
box that contained our money, if it was still there.” I said in a rush. Thankfully they did not get away with our money otherwise we would have been poor.
Everything was missing, our jewelry, clothes, couch, and the kids’ toys. All of us stayed with my parents for the week. We had to take the time to buy back every
single thing that we had in the house.
We had some of the most expensive artwork that you could find. There was no bed to sleep on and so we had to stay with my parents. The kids had been
more comfortable staying here because they like to play with their cousins. My sister Mary S. Stannon came by everyday with her four kids ever since she had
heard about what had happened. She would ask if we were feeling okay, or if I was worried about the robbery. I would always reply back that I was okay and that
I would think about what the children feel inside about this situation. Friends also came over since they have experienced this before and they gave me advice to
prevent this to happen again After about 2 weeks in total we had got back all of our stuff. There was someone who had spotted this and they reported it
immediately to us. We got the sheriff and all of our stuff was returned.
When I was at the age of 25 I was a scientist. I worked to figure out something that would cure people. In that time I worked really hard, but I never got
anywhere. I later decided when I was 30 years old that I wanted to become a school teacher. This was what I really wanted to do and I had worked to do this in
1784. I was both a scientist and a teacher. I taught kids of all ages because it was a one room school house. I felt that there were a million people in one tiny
room. Teaching was actually fun because I love children.
